Can Cilacar-T Be Taken Instead Of Tenormin For BP?
Question: I am taking Tenormin 100 fr last 10 years but tdy my BP is 144/98 and my Dr suggested to discontinue Tenor min and recommend CilacarT. Pl advise

hello,I have gone through your query.Thanks for using HCM.
For treatment of your hypertension your goal is to keep BP below 140/90.Inspite of 100 mg Tenormin this level is not attained.Hence you need one more medicine to add.Off late we are getting adverse reports on long term use of atenolol(Tenormin),hence all guide lines no longer recommend this drug as first agent.I suggest you to start ACE group of medicines for BP control instead of cilacar,You may discuss with your treating doctor and decide.
