Question: I would like to know if I should continue taking Cipro, I had a kidney infection almost sepsis, came out of hospital this past Sunday, and dr said to continue the treatment with Cipro until this Sunday, but I developed a bit of yeast inf and my tongue was very sensitive and part white...dr said to stop Cipro and take fluconazole and clotrimazole.. is it safe to stop the antibiotics or should I continue still until Sunday? And would there be any problem if I take both medicines clotrimazole and Cipro?

Brief Answer:

Cipro and Clotrimazole can be taken together.

Detailed Answer:

Hello!

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

It is ok to take Clotrimazole and Cipro together. Also it is not good to stop the cure in the middle, so I would recommend taking the Cipro until Sunday and finish the cure (it is just 1 more day).

I also would recommend that you consider doing a urine analyse after 10 days to check if the infection has cleared completely.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Thank you, so Clotrimazole would still work protecting me from the fungal infection correct?

Yes, Clotrimazole will still work and protect you.

Hello!

Yes, Clotrimazole would help you with the fungal infection. You need to use it for some days after you finish the antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query.
