Can Cremalex Be Taken In Place Of Lactihep Sy?
Stool softeners are more preferable
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Cremalax (sodium picosulphate) is a purgative which increases the urge to pass stool. Although it can be taken on daily basis, I would not prefer it. Rather, I would insist you to take stool softeners like Softovac or fiber supplements like Isabgol (Psyllium husk) or Senna on daily basis. These help in forming the bulk of the stool which is more essential.
Alongside it is very important to walk regularly in the morning (or may be in the afternoon). This helps in regularizing the bowel movements and is therefore contributory.
The problem with lactihep syrup (lactitol monohydrate) can be managed by reducing the dose suitably as needed.
Hope that helps.
