Question: Hello Doctor,
My daughter is 7.5 years old (I have twins), one of them recently was down with Cold and severe cough. We did not give any specific medication other than Crocin DS for fever and relent plus for cold and cough, although her fever and cold is now under control her cough is still very persistent and would like to seek your advice on how to treat this. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Will take time

Detailed Answer:
Hi thanks for writing to us
From your description it looks like a viral infection which is very common in this season.
You can continue relent plus for a few more days . If fever and cold is better no need to worry . However if cough worsens or if she develops fever or throat pain or any other symptoms, she needs to be examined for chest or throat infection . Give warm liquids to keep hydrated . Avoid dust and smoke exposure .
Regards
Dr Arun
