Aplastic anemia is acquired & requires drug treatment as prescribed
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on Health Care Magic.
Cyclosporin and Methylpredisone are both immunosuppresants.
These drugs are not without some side effects.
The common side effects of cyclosporin are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach up set, giddiness etc.
The common side effects for methylpredsone are same as that for cyclosporin. In addition to these side effects, there may be sleep problems, poor wound healing, sweating etc.
However, you need to keep in touch with your treating doctor while taking these drugs and to take these drugs for treatment of your present disease state.
At the age of 67, aplastic anemia is essentially acquired and not congenital.
Acquired aplastic anemia can occur be due to toxins, drugs, autoimmune conditions, radiotherapy etc. which can cause bone marrow suppression.
For your current situation, you need to take the drugs prescribed and be on regular follow up with your treating hematologist.

I was very anemic as a child. I remember having to eat things with iron and get shots, but my mother has passed so I have no idea what the shots were. It went on for a few years.
The drugs are required.
Detailed Answer:
hello and welcome again,
The drugs prescribed to you are immunosuppresants suggestive an immune mechanism for aplastic anemia.
With an underlying immunological cause for aplastic anemia, these drugs are required.
Recovery from aplastic anemia is indicated by improvement in hemoglobin, increase in white blood cell count and platelet count.
I suggest you to stay in touch with the hematologist and continue drugs till your hematologist advises you to do so.
Thanks and take care
