Question: Hi Doctor,

My wife is pregnant for 5 weeks now. We just realised this 4 days back.

She was taking cytomid 250 to get her hormones in order post consultation from a doctor.

She has stopped taking cytomid 250 since laSt 1 week. Should we continue with the pregnancy now. Really tensed post reading the reviews online. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy category C drug

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Cytomid is flutamide which is an antiandrogen drug, which is a pregnancy category C drug.
It means it's use in pregnancy has shown adverse effects in the animals, however no controlled studies are done in humans.
However, there are no absolute indications to terminate the pregnancy if used in first trimester.
I will suggest you to consult a fetal medicine specialist to get a detailed counselling and decide accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
