Can Deflazacort Be Taken In Place Of Wysolone For Interstitial Lung Disease?

Interstial Lung Disease
Detailed Answer:
Good evening
Thank you for wrintong on health care magic
Well, interstial Lung disease is usually an auto immune problem and does require steroids for suppressing the inflammation. Infact, it is the only drug known to slow the pace of the disease. As your ANA is strong positive along with rheumatoid factor, it probable looks autoimmune. But we need to add other medicines along with steroid, which play the same role of steroid but with lesser side effects.
2. You need to get ENA profile done along with 2 D Echo to assess for the heart pressure
3. As for Wysolone and Deflazacort..Both are quite same only. It is easier to taper wysolone to the minimum possible dose needed as all the studies have been done with this drug only. Deflazacort is more of a new fancy drug but with no added advantages. You can take either, which ever you are comfortable with. Take it early between 5-8 AM as your body also produces it during that time and there will be lesser side effects.
4. You may not have arthritis to have RF positive. It can be positive even in Interstial Lung disease usually associated with another disease called Sjogrens Syndrome. ( ENA Profile would confirm that)
I hope the information was useful
