Can Dronis Be Taken After Intercourse?

Question: hi
i want to know if i can take dronis 20 everyday or just after an intercourse
my p6eriods were regular but stopped 3 months back all of a sudden but it came back this month as i took pills prescribed by the doctor.before this i have been taking dronis 20 for the last 2 years.so now should i take ot regularly or just wen i get physical.i am 30 yrs old

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Dronis is a oral contraceptive pill and has to be taken regularly to maintain its efficacy.
Taking it off and on may lead to contraception failure and risk of pregnancy.
It will not act as a emergency contraceptive.

i have a case of PCOD and when the periods stopped 3 months back i got an ultrasound and found that its PCOD again which has come up ....though i was taking dronis 20 regularly but then too my periods stopped.so i hope there is no problem in continuing it again from the 5th day of the period and i hope the periods will be normal again from now on..

Hi dear, thanks for responding. There will be no problem in continuing the Dronis 20, however I will suggest you to change the brand of oral contraceptive (Krimson 35 or Diane 35), which are more effective in regulating the periods in PCOS.

Thanks a lot mam for getting me out of confusion and tension.any one out of the two medicines you have suggessted hope will not have any side effect on me in any way just want to know that.and i have to continue it till the time i dont want kids .as soon as i am ready to have kids i can stop using it?
and also i have to start taking it from the 5th day of the period and same time everyday..os that right?

The oral contraceptive pills have the common side effect of weight gain,mood swings, breast engorgement.There are rare side effect of aggravation of migraine, hypertension, deep venous thrombosis, liver dysfunction.
Yes, you should stop them when you want to conceive.
You should start taking it from day 3-5 of the periods, and should take it at the same time of the day, preferably at the bed time.

Hi XXXXXXX you should not worry much about the side effects of these oral contraceptive pills, as these are the side effects which occur on prolonged usage ( more than one year continously).
In PCOS, it is advisable to take oral contraceptive pills continuously for 6 months, and then give a break for3-6 months.
These pills are recommended in PCOS, and other low dose oral contraceptive pills are not effective.
