Can Duphaston Be Used To Alleviate Menopausal Symptoms?
Question: Hello there. I am going through menopause and having the accompanying symptoms ( hot flashes and sweating...) I was against taking any hormonal drug to alleviate the symptoms because of the risk of having cancer. I have tried non hormonal drugs such as " Manhae" but without a good result . My question is what could I safely take and how to take it. Someone suggested I take " Duphaston" .
Brief Answer:
yes duphaston can help
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Duphaston is a progesterone, so cancer risk is low as compared to estrogen. It can be used to alleviate menopausal symptoms.
Other possible options are drugs like fluoxetine and venlafaxine. They also don't increase cancer risk. But these are all prescription drugs.
Hope this helps. I will be available for further follow up.
