Brief Answer:
It is always better to be taken under a dermatological guidance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back and thanks for providing the important details.
Both Follihair and Adgain are basically multivitamins and are quite safe under supervised treatment. But there are certain of the important things to be mentioned:
- Both Follihair and Adgain contains Biotin and calcium pantothenate. So taking both of these things simultaneously is not beneficial.
- In my patients I prefer to give either of these. The basic difference is that Adgain in addition contains Brewer's yeast which gives an additional advantage of better hair growth.
- In females specifically, these should not be taken beyond a particular limit. This depends on person to person. On long term usage these can cause induction of hair growth on other sites of body. So it is always better to be taken under a dermatological guidance.
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
thank you for your valuable input, this made me aware of the medicinal benefits and cons
One last question, you did mention medicine should not be taken beyond a particular limit, what does the limit signify. Would you suggest I discontinue the intake of both the medicines or could you please suggest me a way out.

Brief Answer:
1 tab/day for 1st month & then taper off to alternate day for 2nd month.
Detailed Answer:
Dear young lady,
Welcome back and thanks for your swift response.
In my patients with your kind of situation I prefer to give the tablet for once daily in first month continuously and then taper off to alternate day for 2nd month. At this juncture of two months I examine various areas of body such as side locks, upper lip, chin and rest of the body areas to see any increase in hair growth.
Though in general there is no perceptible hair growth in most of the patients but even then I make it sure to have the safest of the way out. If at all I see any hair growth or if reported by the female patients then I stop the tablet right away at the end of second month.
In your case if I were your treating doctor then would have suggested to check for hair growth as discussed above. If there is no perceptible increased hair growth then you can taper off to alternate day and then stop it.
I additionally suggest you to take a good nutritious diet containing lot of fruits and green vegetables. An iron supplementation once a day for one month and then alternate days is better suited in females.
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help or if not then can close the query and rate the discussion.
