Can HIV Be Contracted From Protected Intercourse With A Sex Worker?

Question: I had protected sex exactly before 10 days. I used condom for intercourse with a commercial sex worker. We just had 5 mins of sex and after that she removed my condom and I returned home without washing. I reached home after 4 hours and took a complete head bath.. after 4 days I started feelings abnormal with symptoms like body itching (without rash) and now on 10th day m having sore throat and lymph node mild irritation in the neck area. I used condom properly and my sex did not last more than 5 mins. My symptoms are because of not washing right after sex?? Am I exposed to HIV or any STI?. I did a Google research and really confused after seeing the same symptoms for many other diseases .. am planning to go for a master health check-up in a couple of days.. please help me.

You had protected sex with CSW then there is no risk of HIV in your exposure. As far as your symptoms are concerned, they might be due to throat infection not related to HIV so nothing to be worried about because you are not exposed to HIV or any other STD.

You can definitely go ahead with master health check-up to clear your doubts. In my opinion you are absolutely safe and risk free so just calm down, forget about the episode and live your life normally.

Thanks for your timely response doctor.. body itching is more nowdays and no rashes .. m unable to have proper food as well . Today only the new symptom araised (lymph node pain) will it take a progression and show any severe symptoms. Should I request for any specific test in blood sample..

Hi Doctor,

Today i went for a master health check-up and received the results as no medical problems. i have uploaded the same here. I told him about my symptoms ( Itching like sensation and Lymph node pain which i had before 2 days) to the physician and he said it might be because of some infection. After this response, i explained him that m not having any symptoms now but its quite intermittent. I request you also to review my results and let me know your inputs. At times m getting joint pains in legs.
