Can HIV Be Contracted Through Cunnilingus When Partner Has Bleeding Gums?
Very unlikely for HIV infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
The chances of infection is extremely rare but if the bite has caused wound that bleeds and painful then you must visit a gynaecologist for evaluation to start antibiotics to prevent bacterial infections. The possibility of any STD is very rare as there is no direct intercourse in your case and if bite has not caused any breach in integrity of membranes. I would not advise any tests either. But if you are anxious then you can take a test for HIV after12 weeks by 4 th generation ELISA test. You must keep genital hygiene maintained.
Take care

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Well come back
The breach of membranes means that there is bleeding and cut at the site of bites. The saliva has no major effect on HIV viral transmission.
Best of health
Practically speaking no chance of HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes if you visit the physician then after evaluation it will be best to tell if cuts or abrasions. Do not worry about time lapse there would be signs of healing if cut. Yes if abrasions then the relative risk is higher for any infection including HIV. But in your case as there was only bite with no intercourse then practically speaking there is no chance of HIV infection. You must keep hygiene to prevent any infection.
Best of health
Tests not needed in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back.
I understand your concern but I understand that you do not have any cuts or abrasions so you are not a high risk patient as your intercourse was protected. The risk of infection is very low with oral exposure to genitals. So I advise that you do not need to worry. Concentrate on your work and live a normal life. If you have any lesions developed then you must visit a gynaecologist. If you are too anxious you may take the HIV ELISA test after 12 weeks. But if you don't take there is no need to worry. The test is only for your psychological advantage to lead normal life without stress. Trust me you are absolutely fine.

HIV is rare in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I really feel sorry for your situation. The HIV does not spreads by nail scratches. But seeing your present concern I would like to advise you that you can get tested by HIV PCR test after 6-7 weeks or HIV ELISA test after12 weeks. The tests will clear all your doubts and psychologically helpful too. But I again stress that the risk of getting HIV in your case is extremely unlikely.
Best of health
Yes risk increases with bleeds.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I would like to tell you that theoretically the risk increases with bleeding. But the risk of HIV infection by oral ways is rare and unlikely. But I suggest seeing your situation that you can get tested by 4 th generation ELISA test after12 weeks.

It dies outside the body.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I would like to tell you that once the virus leaves the human body, it dies within minutes, since the virus is immediately going into an environment in which it cannot survive. The HIV needs an obligate host to live and replicate its cycle. So it does after outside the body.
Take care
No it is insignificant.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I would suggest you not to worry so much. 5 days after exposure any cut is insignificant for HIV infection. I realize you are too worried. I am always ready to help and guide you. Just take a test and keep smiling.
