Can HIV Be Contracted Through Kissing?

Question: Hello Doctor

I am having lip kiss with girl and after that i am feeling itching and on/off sore throat on left side of neck .

I am so worried . Pls help me .

I am having my HIV 1&2 test after a week and its get negative.

But due to itching and soar throat , i am afraid.

No HIV risk

Thanks for your question .HIV does not spread through lip kissing .Of course there is a theoretical risk in wet kissing (exchange of oral fluid) with an infected (with HIV) person; but no such case has been ever reported. HIV spreads through exchange of infected body fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids ) via sex, blood transfusion ,needles and delivery of babies. You need not to worry .You are a HIV negative person. You don't needs any tests. All the best and wish you a healthy year ahead.
