Can HIV Be Contracted Through Oral Sex?
Question: sir, i performed unprotected oral sex on a married woman (cunnilingus) today few hours back (she also performed oral on me but no ejaculation from me). i am not aware of her HIV status. Duration was for 10 minutes wherein she secreted natural fluids (which i did NOT spit out) and she even had an orgasm twice. However, after the exposure now... i am extremely worried of contracting HIV. May i seek your advice that is there a risk of infection in case she is HIV positive; and Since it has been only 5 hours since exposure, can i take any prophylactics / medicine to minimise chances of contacting HIV. thanx and regards. Hoping for an early guidance pls

The chances of transmission of HIV by oral sex is very minimal or nil.There are chances if oral ulcer or wound is present.Otherwise the chances is almost nil.
If she is negative there is no chance of transmission.
You can find out her status or get her tested for HIV.if negative you can allay fears of HIV totally.
Usually pep (post exposure prophylaxis)may not be needed for this situation.Pep if needed has to be taken within 72 hours of exposure.

sir, i appreciate and understand what you are saying. However, i am sorry bcoz of my anxiety. may i request you to be more specific in this case assuming she was HIV positive. I am asking it again because the internet is full with conflicting information on getting HIV through oral sex and your saying chances are minimal/ almost Nil is not equal to Nil. Moreover i feel tht regular brushing and tooth decay and other things more often than not cause minor wounds/ ulcers in the mouth.
Sir, Have there been documented cases on getting HIV only through Cunnilingus or have you or your colleagues have come across any such case u have got HIV this way. Do i have a reason to worry here and take some steps while i still can ?
