Can HIV Be Contracted Through Protected Sex?

Question: Dear doctor,
I have had few risky exposure in past 4 years. ( always protected v sex ). Last one was last year which was fully protected. Never had unprotected sex in my life.
Ever since last sex i had neumerous tests up to 13 months after last exposure.
Including 3 fourth gen tests at 8 weeks, 6 months and 7 months.
And had isntant test at 4 weeks and 13 months and normal 3rd gen test at 9-10 months.
All and every single one of them were negative so far.
However i had weird symptoms in past one year. Such as two counts of cold sore and folliculitis on my torso and its been two days i have tonsolitis with yellow spot on my left tonsil.
All of my symptoms are making me doubt all those tests.
Please help me doc. How conclusive and defintive my tests are and can i really consider myself hiv free?

Brief Answer:
You are free from HIV. Your symptoms are not related to HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again to HCM.
Thank you for posting your query.
You had your sexual exposure with adequate protection.
It is 100% sure that you are free from HIV Infection. Repeated nonreactive HIV tests (4th generation and other tests) 12 weeks after the last exposure ruled out the possibility of HIV beyond any doubt.
Almost 40-50% of community in any population would have HSV 1 (cold sore) infection at one time or other and recurrences frequently with many.
Folliculitis and tonsilitis are also common for anybody to get at anytime during their life. Those symptoms are not necessarily related to HIV.
Relax and forget the same.

Thank you very much doctor,
It was really heart warming. Im really trying to overcome this fear but such symptoms as i described earlier makes me doubt the tests.
As last question.
Is it possible for someone to be hiv positive but no tests show it up to one year?
Looking forward to hear you.
