Posted on Wed, 8 Mar 2017
Question: Dear Doc,
Please help me, im in great stress and fear due to possibilty of acquairing HIV.
I never had unprotected sex in my life to begin with and i live in london. Howver i have been with couple of escorts in past five years but never unprotected and never toxicated due to alcohol.
However despite having protected sex i took multipile hiv test in span of five years. One five years ago, anothwr 2 and since last exposure with escort which was one and half years ago. I took 9 more tests up to one year after last exposure. Includig 2 4th gen test at 6 weeks and 7 months and the 9th test was a rapid test in NHS funded clinic in London more than one year after last exposure. Thank god all were negative.
Howver in past five months i noticed more and more bumps and follicutites and pimples on my chest and shoulder. Not much and i worst days less than 3. But they come and go. Last time i had cold and flu with fever was more than a year ago so i havent been sick thank god.
But these skin problems that i have now is making me really worreid. I upload few photos just in case.
Please help me. Am i in any sort of danger?
Please help me. Btw i have a friend whos back is million times worse than me. I used his towel and his jacuzzi alot this summer and im worried the towel which later i found out was already used and even had bit of blood since his pimples always cause him such discomfort. May i contract his acne problem since i have oily skin too.
Cant wait for your reply.

Brief Answer:
Absolutely no reason to worry or fret about HIV, I don't see why :)

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Your presentation and history shows absolutely no relation or consistency with HIV, so HIV is one thing I certainly wouldn't worry about, even more as multiple tests have reported negative results.

As for the back and chest acne presentation, this can occur during a change in weather when you sweat more than usual, and at times even due to not taking a shower on a regular enough basis. This is absolutely normal, and is nothing to worry about, just up your hygiene a little especially when you sweat and I am sure this will subside with time.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
