Can HSV1 Infection Be Contracted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?
Question: Hi...can i get HSV1 or HSV2 when girl performs unprotected oral sex on me only? Shes the receptive and im insertive. what is the situation when this becomes a risk?

HSV 1 infection is a non-STD condition mainly occurring in and around mouth and nose. Nearly 40-50% of any population would have been exposed to HSV 1 even during childhood or afterwards. So if your partner had HSV 1 infection already, there is a possibility for her to transmit the HSV 1 infection to you through unprotected oral sex. The possibility of HSV 2 infection is quite unlikely through a oral sex (male as insertive and female as a recipient).

If HSV infection occurs from such scenario, would the "male insertive" symptoms show up on throat and mouth? Or would it show on the genitals?
