Can Hydrocodone Be Taken Along With Motrin For Acute Kidney Stone?

Question: Can I take hydrocodone with Motrin for acute kidney stone pain?
Brief Answer:
Yes, you certainly can ...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
You can certainly take Hydrcodone, which is a a painkiller with Motrin (Ibuprofen) for the acute pain of kidney stone. But I would reassess the need to use hydrocodone because in most cases ibuprofen and other prescription drugs / less potent opioid drugs works well for acute kidney stone pain.

I took 800 mg of motrin first...but it didn't do much. I have some hydrocodone left from when I had a kidney stone earlier this year but I never took it at the same time as motrim so wanted to make sure it was OK to take. Thanks for your reply.
Brief Answer:
Please see the expiry date of Hydrocodone.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, I can understand your thinking.
Hydrocodone can be safely taken with Motrin. In fact this is a best combination in some instances , like the severe pain you may have.
Please make certain about the expiry date of Hydrocodone as it is with you since earlier this year. This is very important.
Just be sure, do not worry, this is safe.
Just out of the records- what is your problem, I mean where are the stones?
Stone can cause severe pain only if impacted in the ureter causing obstruction.
I hope you are well diagnosed and under a proper care for the stone.
Please see the expiry date of Hydrocodone.
