Question: I have been taking verapamil er 180mg daily x 16 years. I have been experiencing extreme dizziness upon lying, burning arm pain, and fatigue, and pain, flulike symptoms for 3 months. Doctors can’t find anything wrong except positive for mono. I cannot get well. Desperately trying to get well I discontinued the verapamil 4 days ago. Should I feel better by now. Any suggestions. I never had a fever

I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I read carefully your question and would like to explain that your symptoms (the dizziness and pain in the arms) do not seem to be related to verapamil adverse effects.

The dizziness upon lying and burning arm pain could be related to a neurological disorder affecting the cervical vertebral column or spinal cord. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a cervical spine MRI.

Another issue to consider would by testing for Lyme disease, which could mimic this clinical situation.

Have you excluded an inner ear disorder? If the dizziness is triggered by head movements, it could be indicative of an inner ear disorder.

At the end, I would recommend checking thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction, which could mimic some of your symptoms (the fatigue, the dizziness).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
