Can I-pill Cause Menstrual Irregularities?
Question: Hi,
I took an Ipill on Oct 5th as I had almost an unprotected sex, though I didn't took it in. On Oct 11th, I got my periods. Again on Oct 16th I took an I pill , due to unprotected sex, however, I didn't took it fully in. On Oct 23rd, I had unprotected sex but it was with protection. After the act, I see there was some bleeding. And I see that the bleeding though not heavy, is still existing till today. What's the cause of this bleeding ?What does this indicate? Why is it not stopping? Is it due to friction or any other reason? Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to side effect of i-pill.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
It is most likely due to side effect of i-pill due to hormonal imbalance. ( as you had two pills in one cycle and it may cause menstrual irregularities) .
But to be safer side as bleeding is going so long it's better to consult a Gynecologist and get yourself examined( pelvic) to rule out the cause of bleeding like abrasion cause by friction.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
Regards
