Can I Take Kalms For Anxiety While On Atenolol, Amlodipine, Indapamide, Doxazosin And Atorvastatin?

Question: I am taking atenolol 50mg,amlodipine 10mg, indapamide 2.5mg Doxazosin 2mg also atorvastatin 20mg for high blood pressure I am suffering from anxiety attacks can I take Kalms with these medication.

Hello,

kalms is not a drug (and there seem to be various formulations under the same brand as well), therefore the documentation that comes with it is not abundant and it's not easy to find in drug-interaction databases. Judging by its active substance (valerian) it's not supposed to cause any harm or interactions with the rest of your drugs. I'm not quite sure it will help either but you can give it a try without significant safety concerns.

The commonly used drugs for anxiety disorders are benzodiazepines (short-term) and anti-depressants (long-term). Diazepam is a benzodiazepine. There are various choice regarding the anti-depressants. Examples include citalopram, duloxetine, etc.
