Can I Take Omeprazole With Alprazolam?
Question: Can I take omeprazole with alprazolam?
Brief Answer:
Drug interaction is there. Please avoid.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There is indeed a possible interaction between Omeprazole and Alprazolam, so it is best to avoid. Alprazolam also interacts with Esomeprazole (which belongs in the same drug class as Omeprazole).
You could take instead Pantoprazole (Protonix) or Lansoprazole (Prevacid), which belong in the same class as Omeprazole but do not interact with Alprazolam.
I hope this answers your question. You are welcome to as any further questions you might have.
Take care.

I have trouble getting a restful sleep and xanax helps. Any other sleep relaxants?
Brief Answer:
Trazodone
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
While I am always in favor of natural sleep remedies, such as Melatonin, St. John's Wort, Cava and Valerian, I am doubtful they will work in your case, after having been used to Xanax.
Trazodone (Desyrel), is a good alternative to Alprazolam. It is an antidepressant which has proven very effective in improving sleep quality.
I hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask further.
Take care
