Can I Undergo Gallbladder Surgery When Diagnosed With Preeclampsia After Childbirth?
Question: was labeled with preeclampsia when my son was born four days ago. Now i have to have a surgery to remove my gallbladder tomorrow morning are my risk super dangerous going into a mandatory surgery while having pressures in preeclampsia range? trying to ease some worry but will love the truth
Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried if blood pressure is under control
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Preeclampsia usually resolves once the baby is delivered. So most likely your blood pressure must be pretty controlled now. If the blood pressure is controlled, you do not have any concerning symptoms and your blood workup are in the normal range, then there is no issue going ahead and undergoing surgery.
Hope this answers your question

blood pressure is still in stage 1 hypertension
Brief Answer:
Not to be worried too much
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
In stage 1 hypertension systolic blood pressure can range from 130 to 139, and diastolic from 80 to 89. Even though this is not ideal, if the blood pressure is not too fluctuating, and maintained below 140/90, then there is not much to be worried.

what if pressure is were about 144 / 92
Brief Answer:
It is not a contraindication for surgery
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If the blood pressure were slightly above 140/90, still it is not an absolute contraindication or too high risk. Then the decision to undergo surgery will depend on your overall condition, other parameters and the reason for which surgery is being done.
Your doctor will assess the risk vs benefits/need of undergoing emergency surgery to come to a decision.

I have had the surgery almost 3 days ago, feeling general fatigue and weakness in extremities, to the point I am shaking, there is no strength in my legs or arms , I expected to be weak in the abdomen onky because of the gallbladder removal .is this a normal body response?how do I know when I'm becoming too weak
Brief Answer:
Likely to be the recovery phase
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The pregnancy, delivery and emergent surgery are all stressful events and can contribute to fatigue and weakness. Make sure you are we hydrated especially if you are breastfeeding. Drink plenty of fluids. Eat healthy meals. Space the meals frequently in smaller portions. If you feel too tried, sugary snack or juice can help. Also, monitor your blood pressure closely and check your hemoglobin levels for possible anemia. Some women can develop anemia following childbirth which can cause fatigue and weakness. Get a urine analysis done too to rule out underlying urinary tract infection.
Hooe your baby boy is doing well and Wishing you a fast recovery.
