Can Keflex And Amox Be Taken Together?
Question: Ok to mix keflex 500 with amox 875-125 mg. I have two partial prescriptions which will take me 10 days. Not old
Brief Answer:
Not OK
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There is absolutely no reason to do that. Amoxicillin/clavulanate should suffice and surpasses the antimicrobial spectrum of cephalexin (Keflex). Taking both would only increase the risk for side-effects without gaining in effectiveness.
Please also note that many otitis cases do not require antibiotic treatment. Antibiotics are usually prescribed when the symptoms are intense or a moderate to high fever appears.
I hope I've helped!
