Brief Answer:
no major interaction other than G.I. bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concern about drug interaction. Among the current medication there is no major drug interaction reported as they are metabolized by different pathways. So in that regard there is nothing to worry.

Knowing the fact that you are 85 year I like to inform you that there is increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in those who take both SSRI (escitalopram) and aspirin. This is the one important thing that needs consideration.

To counter this side effect following things can be done.
1. Use of proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole, pantoprazole or esmoprazole.
2. Use of less spicy food
3. Avoidance of smoking and alcohol

If you feel that adding another medication is not a good idea, you can talk to your doctor to prescribe SNRI group of medication or another antidepressant which has less risk of gastrointestinal bleeding like bupropion or mirtazepine.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
Thanks and regards
Dr Ashok Kumar
