Brief Answer:
Medulary sponge kidney will not lead to kidney failure

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Medulary sponge kidney generally will not lead to kidney failure. use of pain medicines from nsaid group can lead to tubular dysfunction and kidney disease even in patients not having any underlying kidney disease. so pain killers should be avoided. you should do a baseline assessment of renal functions to see if your serum creatinine is normal. in case you have a normal renal function your chances of developing kidney damage by the use of your pain medicine would be just same as any other person with normal kidneys.

best wishes
