Posted on Mon, 23 Nov 2015
Question: I was contemplating taking meth to lose weight. I'm a vet and because if surgeries and unable to do the physical activities since I got injured I have steadily and rapidly been gaining weight. I have sleep issues so that doesn't help w the weight issue, I'm so desperate that I contemplated having my jaw wired shut. I'm only 35, 5 ft and now weigh 170 lbs, never in my life have I been so big, I feel so uncomfortable. But despite all my attempt my cravings are stronger than I and I feel like such a failure. Most of all I am extremely extremely uncomfortable w ask this fast. I began having surgeries since last October and now I'm so fat I keep going up cnt seen to drop at ALL

Brief Answer:
meth is a bad idea, cause professional, legal, personal problems

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable that you are upset about weight gain and difficulty losing weight but meth would be a bad idea.

It would lead to more problems than solutions. Likely to cause social, work related, personal and possible legal problems.
It could quite possibly lead to a down spiral affecting every single aspect of your life.

The cardio and other physical activity that you are doing is good and play a role in helping with healthy living but needs to be combined with consistent diet changes.

Consider: (1) removing any stimulus that may lead you to eat foods that would cause problems.
This means removing unhealthy foods from the house /work places or going a different route to work or elsewhere to avoid passing any areas that may have foods that you crave

(2)consider a food diary- in some persons writing down foods and drinks used throughout the day helps with accountability

(3)pick a diet plan and stick with it, reward yourself when you stick to it each week (non food rewards eg spa, hair treatment, walk, movie etc)

This can be a low fat/low calorie diet or low carb diet, choose the one that best suits you. Meal plans for either are available online. It should be adhered to consistently.

Both may be associated with weight loss , in some the initial weight loss is greater with the low carb diet

Meal replacements for 1 or 2 meals a day may also help

(4)consider enlisting assistance- a nutritionist or bariatrician (Weight loss doctor) or online weight loss program
It can be easier if there is someone to guide through weight loss

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
