Can Methylprednisolone Weaken The Immune System?
Question: I was given 125mg of methylprednisone by intravenous as an emergent prep for CT scan to avoid allergic reaction. To what degree will this suppress my immune system and for how long?

Eight days after the IV methylprednisone, I received a rabies booster as a prophylactic. I got the booster because I saw some scratches on my leg and and was concerned it might have been by a bat. I did not see a bat.
Will the rabies booster suffer be diminished at all by the IV methylprednisone to any concerning degree?

It's not that steroids suppress the immune system. It is the suprarenal glands that are suppressed. Usually, in such doses it happens for one week and then it returns in normal values after this period.
