Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
I do not recommend using mupirocin for this problem. Mupirocin is an antibiotic which treats infections from staphylococcus and streptococcus and that is not what causes genital itching.
The miconazole you are trying would be a good choice if you are having signs of yeast, which often includes a whitish discharge, but not always. Miconazole is an over the counter topical anti yeast medicine. Any of the over the counter anti yeast creams can be used for this purpose.
You can also try bathing in a tub with apple cider vinegar added to the water. Not more than 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to a tub of water. Yeast and fungi do not do well in acidic environments and apple cider vinegar adds some acidity.
If the problem is recurrent or not being helped by these efforts, see your doctor to confirm the cause. Women who are post menopausal sometimes benefit from topical/intravaginal estrogen cream to improve the immune health and strength of the urinary and vaginal tissues and this can sometimes take care of the problem, especially if the itching is related to excessive dryness.
I hope this information helps and you are feeling better soon.
