Question: Doctor, does NAC (N-acetylcysteine) also reduce symptoms of ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome along with PCOS and OCD? If it works, then how much is the dosage to take?

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, there is no evidence from randomized controlled clinical trials that NAC has efficacy in the treatment of ADHD or Asperger's. There is promising evidence that it does have efficacy in cocaine and marijuana use disorders, as well as OCD (as you mention). See this summary of recent studies at this link:

Perhaps in the future NAC will be studied for ADHD and Asperger's, but not yet.

Thank you for the reply doctor, just another question: how much dosage of NAC supplements should I take for both OCD and PCOS? Because I am suffering all the symptoms of both these conditions together.
