Can Naprosyn Be Taken During Breast Feeding?

i hv a4months baby girl...cn i take naprosyn 500??is it safe during breastfeeding??plz help

Thanks for the query.
Though information indicates that levels of naproxen in breastmilk are low and adverse effects in breastfed infants(less than 1 yr) are apparently uncommon than in newborn( till 1 month), it is better to avoid this medicine as it may cause-
prolonged bleeding time, thrombocytopenia and acute anemia.

Safer options are Acetaminophen, Flurbiprofen, Ibuprofen, Indomethacin, Piroxicam.

You can get some of this over the counter (brufen) and rest with the prescription of the doctor.

day i at 10pm i took naprosyn 500 tab....frm den i didnt breastfeed my 4months daughter...
hw long shud i nt breastfeed her as i took naprosyn 500...hw much tym shud i pass to breastfeed her again....plz help

you can brestfeed now.

Thanks for follow up.
You need not to stop the brestfeeding if you have taken only 1 or 2 tablets.
It will not cause any harm.
I suggest you to start and continue feed asap.
The side effects i mentioned are from chronic use only and very rare in infants.
