default
Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2023
Question: 1. My wife has been prescribed NIACIN ER tablets (30 tablets at 1 tablet per day).
She is already taking WELCHOL RD-625 tablets (180 per month at 6 tablets per day)
She is also taking JANUMET XR HT tablets 100mg/1000mg (30 per month at 1 tablet per day)
2. She already has a coupon for JANUMET and is looking for NIACIN and WELCHOL (both detailed above).
SHE DOES NOT HAVE ANY INSURANCE.
Would be grateful for your help with the costs of each medication as both she and I are not employed.

Brief Answer:

Prices provided

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

However, to be able to suggest cheaper or generic alternatives I need to understand the underlying problem. I would need you to elaborate on the complaints she is facing.

Janumet (Sitagliptin + Metformin) needs to be taken as prescribed and it would not be a good idea to mess with it.

I am not sure why Niacin (Vitamin B3) and Welchol (Colesevelam) has been prescribed. I assume that things would be clearer after your inputs.

The lowest price of Welchol RD-625 180 tablets is around 630 USD (generic). For Janumet XR HT (generic) 60 tablets it is around 440 USD. For Niacin ER it is 35 USD for 30 tablets.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
