My 3yrs old kid is having severe vomiting. Please advise some medicine as there is no doctor we can reach at this point of time.
You may give Ondansetron syrup with some acid reducing agent like Ranitidine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing this platform
Ofloxacin and metronidazole combination is an antibiotic and is used in infective diarrhea usually. It won't work for vomiting.
Here you may give Ondansetron syrup. The usual dose is 5 ml for this age and you may give it two to three times a day depending on severity. This is the main medicine.
Along with this, some acid reducing agent like Ranitidine syrup will help. The dose for this age would be 1-2 ml two times a day. Give plenty of fluids and check for signs of dehydration like sunken eyes, decreased urine output or lethargy.
If vomiting persists even after giving Ondansetron please consult emergency room immediately as persistent vomiting may cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubt.
