Can Omeprazole Cause Flushed Skin Rash?
Question: Can Omeprazole cause flushed skin rash? Was on triple anitbiotics and told to stop antibiotics due to rash buy continue Omep & Benadryl w/steroid. Rash remains
Dear XXXX, Hi
The antibiotics included in the triple therapy are responsible for this allergic rash,
Omeprazole is unlikely to cause such type of rash.
Reply with thanks.

I just have a few more questions and then i will accept your answer and give you a perfect review. Because you have helped so much. Approximately how long does this type of rash last? It seems to subside then flare up, then subside and then flare up again. It only seems to get better for a little while then i feel the heat and see the rash again. Just when i think its gone it comes back strong again. Is that a normal part of the healing the process? Is it normal for this type of rash to make my skin feel hot and flushed? I stopped all antibiotics Thursday and started Methylprednisolone with Benadryl on Friday. Also since i am infected with H. Pylori would my wife and daughter also be infected through contact with me? Should they be checked for H. Pylori? Thank you so much. Ive included a photo of my face to show the redness and puffiness for your review.

Good Morning!
How are you now?
Usually such types of rash subside by 5-7 days after discontinuing the culprit medication.
Yes, this rash could manifest as warmth and flushed feelings.
Since you are getting this rash on and off, the other causes like food, scented perfumes, laundry clothes, etc should be looked for and to be avoided.
Yes, your close contact family members can acquire the infection.
The most likely mode of transmission is either the oral-oral route (through vomitus or possibly saliva) or perhaps the fecal-oral route (contaminated drinking water) may be an important source of infection.
Hence, they should be checked for H Pylori and if found positive should be treated accordingly.
Hope your query is being answered to your satisfaction.
