Can Ovral-G Be Taken Before IVF?

Question: Hi doctor, my doctor told me to take ovral g until I see him in july for ivf. how is he gonna start ivf with ovral g? will taking ovral g continuesly delay my periods until I see him? will I still be given leupride injection I have only got 5 weeks to get ivf done. Thanks.

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) OVRAL-G is a combined hormonal pill and it should be taken from D5 of cycle and continued for next 20 days. It will help to regularize monthly cycle and IVF will be more easier if proper ovulation occurs.

2) Leuprolide injection may be given if endometriosis symptoms are NOT well controlled. I suggest you to follow your doctor's advice until you get appointment for the IVF procedure.
