Can PCO Cause Irregular Periods And Bleeding Patterns?

Question: hi doctor, i have been diagnosed pcos recently , i had no periods from last two months but there are brownish discharge at the same date of my period . last month my doc prescribed me genitte 35 and metformin salt and i have been taking them regularly for 21 days and still there are no periods just spotting and browinsh discharge with few muscles . Two months before i had unprotected sex with my partner but i tested the pregnancy using a test kit which showed negative result. should i go for a blood test and ultrasound to check n confirm my pregnancy ??? or pcos is the only reason for this irregularity ??
