Can Piriton Be Taken For Labyrinthitis?

Question: Have got labyrinthitis and had it for about 6 weeks......have to be careful I do not turn quickly in bed as the world goes very strange and am then rather spaced out the next day.......saw a doc after three weeks and he gave me antibiotics which did not work so presume it is a virus. Some days are better than others.....have heard about Piriton......should I take it and how often.....any other ideas?

Yes, labyrinthitis its from a viral cause most of the cases.

Piriton its more recommended for treating allergies then treating dizziness.
There are many other options though which work much better with labyrinthitis symptoms.

Any of these will help to remove dizzines: Dimenhydrinate     50 mg every four to six hours or Diphenhydramine 25 to 50 mg every four to six hours or Meclizine     25 to 50 mg every six hours.

Also, vestibular exercises are believed to be helpful in hastening recovery and improving disability in patients with permanent vestibular injury. You can talk with your doctor if they can provide this type of physical therapy.
