Can Postinor-2 Cause Withdrawal Or Implantation Bleeding?
Question: I had unprotected sex with my bf on 28th August. I took prostinor 2 two days later. I had some sort of bleeding after 5 days. Is it considered as withdrawal bleed or implantation bleeding? When will i be getting my next period? I dont take any OCP and this is second time i'm using OCP.
Brief Answer:
It was a withdrawal bleeding
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It was the withdrawal bleeding due to postinor intake and not implantation bleeding.
As implantation bleeding occurs typically 14-16 days after the unprotected sexual activity and never this early.
Your next period can be delayed to first week of October or may come anytime before that as deranged periods are common after this.
Just wait for your periods and do a pregnancy test around 10 days from today to rule out pregnancy if at all.

Does it mean after withdrawal bleed, the menstrual cycle restart from the beginning?Would there be any bad side effect for using ecp frequently?
Brief Answer:
Will restart again
Detailed Answer:
Yes mostly after the withdrawal bleeding, cycle starts anew.
Frequent intake of emergency contraception (more than once a year is frequent), can cause deranged periods and erratic ovulation and thus calendar method of having safe sex loses its certainty.
Moreover intake of high dose of progesterone in these pills can lead to ectopic pregnancy which is a surgical emergency procedure and thus is best avoided than treated.
So in future either use protection or ask her to start oral pills on daily basis as a method of contraception.
