Can Primolut Be Taken To Pre-pone Menstruation?

Question: Can i take primolut to get my period earlier than the due date? I have not got it yet as i am suppose to get it today but I have a friends wedding at the end of the month in a beach resort and really thought i was not going to have it, so i was wondering if i can take primolot to get it before i go.

I don't want to take it for such a long time and want to get my period 7 days earlier than when i am getting it originally? I don't want to take it while I'm there and suffer from spotting or bloating..

Hello Dr Srilatha,

Yes I do understand that primolut is taken to postpone periods but the doctor said if i take it 10 days before my period i can then stop it and my period will come automatically. Does that damage my hormones? is it bad to do this?

1)Are your cycles regular usually? Yes they are give or take 1 or 2 days deepening on the month
2)When was your last period? It it suppose to start today/tomorrow
3)When is your expected period? Next period is on the 28th/29th and that is when my BF wedding is..

So i finish my period lets say 7 August and then start taking the primolot on 10 august and stop taking it on the 20st which then means my period will come on the 21-22-23 which is perfect for me. is that okay?

Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your concern.
In my opinion you want to prepone the periods of next month.
But after stopping the tablets on 20 th its highly unpredictable regarding the starting of periods.They might come with a variability of 2-10 days.So there is a risk of periods to start during the days of wedding.
So the safe thing is to be on hormone pills during the days which you want to be safe.
So I suggest you to start taking primolut N tablets 2-3 days before the expected period and stop till the day you dont want the periods.
The periods might start in 3-7 days after stopping.

Does it have any major side effects?

I have also been reading online and I heard that it will make me bloated and fat? Have you hear of this before, as i would be so upset if i am bloated at a wedding :(

In my opinion prolonged intake of primolutN causes sideeffects like headache,weight gain,muscle cramps etc.
Prolonged usage of progesterone hormone or primolut N is prescribed in case of heavy or irregular bleeding.
But as you are using for a very short time it will not make you gain weight or bloated.
So dont worry.Relax.
