Can Propranolol And Beechams Flu Plus Be Taken Together?

Question: Hi

I need advice i take propranolol for anxiety 40mg a day. Yesterday i took 2 beechams flu plus is there any issues?

There is no drowsiness its that a lot of people say its no good with beta blockers?
Last night i felt like my head felt dizzy and pressure could this be effect of medication.

Propranolol is a wonderful drug for anxiety, I use it on my patients as well. Milk dizziness is one of the side effect, however it gets better within a week and you will stop having these symptoms.

Propranolol does not cause muscle twitching. Muscle twitching is often due to anxiety, de hydration and low calcium. In your case it is most likely because of anxiety.

Last question why is propranolol good for anxiety? When you read the leaflet it says the medicine is for heart or blood pressure etc

Propranolol reduces anxiety by reducing the sympathetic drive. Sympathetic drive is the cause of anxiety, sometimes sweating and also palpitations.
