You can take them together

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

Prozac contains fluoxetine and pristiq contains des-venlafaxine. There is no major drug interaction between these two. You can take them without any worry.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX

Is Adderall 30mg XR and Prozac 40 mg and Pristiq 50mg safe to take together?
I have borderline personality disorder, ADHD and Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive disorder. I feel like I am dead inside. I don't know how to deal with these issues. All I want to do is sleep all day and night. I feel like I am wasting my life away. I am in University but I can never get my work done. I just don't feel like getting started. I don't feel like doing anything infact.

Please help.

Brief Answer:
You need mood stabilizer

Detailed Answer:
Hi

In your case, poor concentration could be due to depression, so there is no need to take Adderall. In patients of borderline personality, mood swings are very common. You need a mood stabilizer like oxcarbamazepine or lithium or valproate. It would help to control such symptoms.

There is no major interaction between addrall, prozac and pristiq. You can take them together, but ideal treatment in your case is mood stabilizer. Along with medication, you can also consult a psychologist for DBT. That would help you to control mood symptoms. Better to discuss with your psychiatrist.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
Thank you for your response. I have tried various mood stabilizers but they affect my vision. Everything becomes very blurry for me. DBT is very expensive. I cannot afford it at the moment. Also a lot of people take very high doses of Adderall XR. But I read on the manufacturers site that you can only take a maximum of 30 mg XR per day. Is it true that higher dosage can be taken?

Please let me know

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Avoid higher dose

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Maximum recommended dose of Adderall is 30 mg per day. If you try to take it at higher dose, it could lead side effects like cardiac arrhythmia, chest pain, headache, anxiety etc. Few patients take higher dose of it, but they are addict to it. Better to avoid higher dose of it.
