Brief Answer:
Can take but need causative treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

If you have had recent onset of irregular cycles, your hormone profiles also should be checked in addition to rule out hormone causes.

Pelvic inflammatory disease in the unmarried state without any procedures on the genital tract is usually rare. There is often associated pain.

The fact that you are having an induced period with Regestrone suggests hormone imbalance. I would suggest a complete hormone profile, blood profile and urinalysis. This is to exclude any general infections and hormonal disorders.

Though Regestrone can be taken to induce a period, this is not the solution. The appropriate cause should be isolated and treated. You have not been prescribed any antibiotic. Lukol is an ayurvedic preparation usually given to treat leukorrhea.

Please maintain a healthy weight, healthy diet and regular exercise. Please see a specialist in person for proper evaluation and further management.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Thanks for your reply Doctor. You notice that hormonal imbalance may be the problem. Is the disorder is due to thyroid dysfunction? and what type of hormonal profile test can I take?

My next question is PID cause any effect on my marriage life and pregnancy?

Brief Answer:
Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Here are your answers:

1. Since your uterus is responding to hormonal withdrawal, you could be suffering from hormonal imbalance which is causing the irregular cycles. You need a complete hormone profile which includes estrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, DHEAS, Prolactin, Insulin, AMH and thyroid profile. Antral follicular count may be taken up later on if needed and so is genetic testing.

2. Thyroid profile can clarify if the disturbance is being caused by imbalance and hence, can be corrected.

3. Pelvic inflammatory disease can affect consummation and child birth if the tubes and ovaries are involved. Tubal patency and endometrial infection and tubal motility are factors that influence the outcome. Proper early care is advisable.

Hope your query is clarified. Please get back if you need any more information. I will be ready to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
