Can Rosuvastatin Be Taken For High Cholesterol Levels?

Question: total cholesterol is 211. HDL is 43. TRIGLYCERIDES IS 101 . LDL IS 147. VLDL IS 20. I AM FEMALE AGE 51 AND HAVING HYPOTHOROID AND AND ON THRONORM100. SHOULD I TAKE ROSUVAS 10 OR ROSUVASF10. PLEASE ADVICE TOTAL CHOLESTEROLS 211 TRIGLYCERIDES 101 HDIL 43 LDL 147 VLDL 20 CHOL/HDL 4.91 NON HDL CHOLESTEROL 168 CALCIUM 7.9 T3 1.33 RANGE .61-1.81 T4 13.2 RANGE 3.2-12.6 TSH 3.09 RANGE .35--5.50

Brief Answer: Rosuvas F has 2 drugs, Rosuvas 1 Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. Thanks for typing in your reports so diligently. I see that your cholesterol levels are high and that your LDL levels are also borderline high. So it would be a good idea to start a Statin drug (as in Rosuvastatin). Now in choosing between Rosuvas and Rosuvas F, Know that the extra 'F' part is a drug called Fenobirate which is added to the tblet in a special attempt to bring down LDL levels (fenofibrate is used to bring down LDL and VLDL levels). So in your case, what I might do is start on Rosuvas F for several months and restest your lipid profile. After which if your LDL is within normal levels, I would switch you to plain Rosuvas. Brief Answer: Rosuvas-F 10mg or 20mg Detailed Answer: Hi, they make 2 versions of the medication. A 10mg tab and a 20mg tab. Both have 160mf of fenofibrate. It depends on what your doctor has recommended. Be aware that these are all prescription medications and should only be used when you have been examined by a doctor.
