Can SAMe Be Taken For Clinical Depression While On Other Medication For Anxiety And Severe Arthritis?
Question: I have already submitted and paid for advise but my tablet never went to an answer and my phone did not ring.. I have severe arthritis and clinical depression and anxiety and currently seeing MD for therapy. My arthritis and migraine headaches still bother me and I would like to restart XXXXXXX E. It has worked in the past without side effects.

In regard to your question about SAMe I like to inform you that there is enough data to support its use in depression. The primary indications include minor depression. In case there is severe depression or treatment resistant depression it can be used for augmentation of antidepressants.
There is nothing wrong to take it with antidepressants provided you have no history of bipolar disorder. In other words it is completely safe in unipolar depression.
