Can STD Be Contracted Through Mutual Masturbation And Kissing?

Question: Ok, I believe you but I am extremely cautious so when I reviewed a web site from a Dr Arani in US below its suggests some possibilities re Foreplay and more specifically some of the things I was concerned about like fingering, mutual masturbation, and I am not sure about kissing, panties to lips, etc. But to the point you made Doc NEVER was there any sexual penetration....no vaginal sex, no anal, no oral. By the way, another university doc who is a friend said you are right.
Just read this other Dr's article below though and you will understand my confusion....is this dr wrong or theoretically possible and simply trying to sell a lot more testing.....this is mainly what his practice does ...all sorts of STD tests.

He has this as a part of his Foreplay link on website:

What is Foreplay:
In human sexual behavior Foreplay is a set of intimate psychological and physical acts between two or more people to increase arousal. Foreplay may precedes intercourse and may not. Some would be described as following:

Touching:
You may get STD by skin to skin contact with your partner. some example would be
Molluscum Contagiosum, HPV, Herpes, syphilis. scabies
Example:
Molluscum contagiosum are papular eruption usually around genital and by direct skin to skin contact.
Syphilis by contact to spirochetes bacteria
Herpes by contact to herpes viral shedding
Genital warts by HPV viral shedding
etc
Manual Stimulation "Hand job"
This is a common practice and patient usually received this by sex worker. This would involved partner provided hand stimulation for sexual arousal.
Risk will be as following:
1)Sex worker/ Partner use her saliva (body fluid) for masturbation
2) If sex worker has contaminated hand , sometimes from infected discharge of previous customer by performing the same act
3)Sex worker use contaminated oil or lubricant or lotion
Remember size of bacteria, parasites and virus responsible for STD are so small that it is impossible to see them Use protection at all time to minimize your risk

Fingering:
It is a manual stimulation of a female's sex organs or female/male anus.
Std risk will be divided in 2 main branches
1) If there is a fissure or cut on skin:
It is easier to contract bloodborne diseases, HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, etc

2) Intact Skin:
chances of bloodborne STD will be lower than above
However there is risk of some other STD such as Herpes

Now if contaminated hand with bacteria such as haemophilus Ducreyi, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia... then it could infect and contaminate other part of the body.
Mutual Masturbation: If you exchange hand, for example, you touch your partner then you touch your own genital then you are at risk of infection.
If you accidentally got in contact with body fluid then quickly wash your hand with antibacterial soap and water to decrease chance of transmission.

Just a mention that I mentioned I think that I bite my fingernails and sometimes have small cuts

Brief Answer:
Regarding your query related to transmission of STDs.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, Molluscum, HPV, herpes and even syphilis may be passed on through skin to skin contact but don't confuse that with simple physical skin to skin contact such as touching external genitalia with fingers or mutual masturbation. By skin to skin contact this doctor surely means the skin of the penile shaft and adjacent pubic region that rubs against the vagina during sexual intercourse. Rubbing creates minute tears or breaks in intact skin where these microbes get inoculated. Apart from treponemes (bacteria which causes syphilis), none of the others can penetrate intact skin.

Secondly, this doctor cites rare examples like if the sex worker uses her saliva, uses semen contaminated hands from previous customer and if the sex worker uses contaminated lubricant or sex toy. These are all theoretical scenarios. Moreover, none of such instances have happened to you (she didn't used her saliva neither has she used a lubricant, and she hopefully didn't have someone else's semen or her own vaginal fluids on her hands when she rubbed your penis!).

I have never seen or heard of a patient who got STDs without having actual sex! Certainly not by such extraordinary ways. Moreover, the microbes which cause STDs are fragile, they don't survive for more than a few seconds outside the body and die quickly upon drying. Therefore, these are just assumptions and rare.

Thirdly, a simple fissure or a cut does not provide a portal of entry to blood. A simple fissure seals itself in a few hours and becomes impermeable. For an infecting microbe to pass through a fissure into blood, the fissure has to be actively bleeding.

Lastly, contaminating hands with STDs during mutual masturbation and then touching ones own genitals does not lead to STDs. The friction of sexual intercourse creates those minute tears, breaks in genital mucosa or genital skin which facilitates inoculation of STDs, this is not otherwise seen with simple touch.

Hope I have answered your query.
