Question: I got a oral from a girl I didn't know was going around a lot before me (like prostitute lvl)... I was drunk and I understand my wrong I've never done penetration without a condom because I'm afraid of std which is why I'm freaking out about this unprotected oral. what are the risks of getting herpes/hvp from this. I didn't see any wrong with her mouth and my gential didn't have any cuts of any sorts.

Brief Answer:
I suggest full STD screening test

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist and venereologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.

Unprotected oral sex does carry a risk of transmission of STDs, inparticular hsv as well as low risk for transmission of other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and even Hiv and Hpv. However, the risk is low with oral sex as compared to other forms of unprotected sexual acts like vaginal or anal.
Neverrheless, Hsv can be transmitted even if there were no visible oral sores because the virus can be shed during asymptomatic phases as well.
I would suggest you to screen for all STD's including VDRL for syphilis, ELISA for Hsv (1 & 2), Hiv (P 24 antigen and antibody screening test), NAAT test for both gonorrhea and chlamydia particularly if you believe that she had also had other sexual contacts too.
You can undergo NAAT test at 2 weeks from sexual contact, however for Hiv and Hsv you need to test at 4 weeks initially and at 12 weeks, for a conclusive result.
