Can STD Be Transmitted Through Direct Skin-to-skin Contact?
Question: Hi Doctor, I had someone to insert a small portion of their finger in my anus yesterday. I had them to remove it right away. Should I be concerned about an STD? Nothing else occurred during this encounter and I left when this happened.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Brief Answer:
it is extremely unlikely that an STD would have been transmitted that way
Detailed Answer:
thank you so much for asking your question on healthcare magic. I will do my best to help you.
Since there is no break exchange of body fluids in the encounter that you described, it is extremely unlikely that there would've been any transmission of an STD. however, I suppose it is possible that this person may not have had clean hands and that he or she had other body fluids on his/her hands and on such a way there could've been a transmission.
so although I doubt you need to be worried, it is still probably a good idea to get tested just to make sure.
I hope this helps. please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks so much Doctor.
What type of STD, if any, should I be slightly concerned about? Also, how long should I wait to be tested?

Brief Answer:
you can get tested right away, and probably for all common STDs
Detailed Answer:
thank you again for asking your question. glad to be of help.
I would actually be a little more worried about a GI type virus that would cause diarrhea or other GI symptoms than an STD. but those wouldn't require testing, you just will know if you get sick. fortunately those will also pass on their own, so there is minimal long lasting impact.
but as far as STDs go, I can't think of a particular one that I would be most worried about. if there was body fluids on his/her finger than almost any STD could have been transmitted, though HIV would be the least likely of all because it is rarely transmitted unless there is truly an exchange of fluid and more significant contact.
so the usual tests would include gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis, and trichomonas, and maybe hepatitis and HIV.
I hope this helps, please let me know if I can be of further help.
