Can Salbid Plus Be Given For Cold, Cough And Discomfort While Sleeping?
Question: My one month old baby has got cold and coughs sometimes and discomfort while sleeping. Can I give Salbid Plus syrup? Else please suggest any medicine
Brief Answer:
Avoid salbid plus, try tminic drops
Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
Cold at this age is usually viral.
Salbid plus is terbutaline , it is a bronchodilator to treat wheezing,
which should not be given without consulting a doctor .
Is she having chest retractions, noisy breathing or dull?
If so consult doctor immediately.
If not,
I would suggest you to try tminic drops 0.3ml which is usually given at this age group.
You can give twice daily.
If not improving in a day or two, consult your doctor.
Wishing your baby speedy recovery
