Can Samixon Be Taken For Acute Tonsillitis?
Question: If my Child has tonsillitis and nothing stays in stomach Cani give Samixon Iv
Brief Answer:
Ceftriaxone (samixon) is given for tonsillitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Samixon (Ceftriazone generic) can be given for acute tonsillitis and this is given intravenously (iv) to children. However the choice of drug and nature of route depends on the toxicity as well. Since oral tablets can worsen the nausea and vomiting IV is the right route. Ofcourse your child should not be allergic to Penicillin group of drugs as Ceftriaxone is a Penicillin group partially.
Please consult your doctor for prescription and administration of Samixon.
