Question: I understand Sildenafil should only be taken once a day. But can it be taken at 2pm on Day 1 and again at 7am on Day 2?

Brief Answer:
Sildenafil can be taken in 17 hour interval.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Yes, sildenafil can be taken with 17-hour interval (as you described) if you can tolerate the medicine well.

Sildenafil belongs to phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor groups which are used to treat mostly erectile dysfunction. It is mostly cleared through a liver and excreted in the feces (80%) and the rest is excreted through kidneys. Its plasma concentration is peaked after one hour taking the oral dose and decreases to its minimum concentration in 8-10 hours.

Sildenafil should be taken with caution in patients with severe hepatic and renal impairment, patients with certain heart disease and taking certain medications (alpha blockers).

Hope, this information is helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you.
